<p>The average 12-month weight loss was around 10.4 lbs for Atkins, 3.5 lbs. The 12 months, measurements for lipids and levels of insulin, glucose and blood pressure for the Atkins group were similar with or more favorable than the other diet groups. The average weight loss across all four groups ranged from 3.5 to 10.4 pounds.</p>
<p>Induction is what a lot of people believe of when Atkins comes to mind. <p>Excessive weight gain is almost always due to an improper diet. Most of the calories we injest will be stored as fat in our bodies if we shift our eating habits because our metabolisms follow patterns.</p>
<p>For the need to address the matter, Dr. Robert Atkins created a dynamic low carbohydrate diet in the 1970&#8242;s, and had a book that elaborated on the diet. It wasn&#8217;t popular when it was first released, but thanks to it&#8217;s reintroduction to the United States in the 1990&#8242;s, it has become more popular and fueled numerous coffee table discussions. The Atkins diet has attested to be favorable in many instances while nutritionists and health experts dismiss it as being a popular fad.</p>
<p>The Atkins diet is broken up into several different stages based on the portion of carbohydrates included into your food chart. In the archetypal introductory phase, it allows for consumption of 20 gm of carbohydrates per day. <p>An entire industry has sprung up from this desire, manufacturing diet pills and marketing them so lucratively that many people actually believe the magic pill might exist. Many of us have tried these pills without success. In order to find out how to best lose weight, there are some important things to know before dieting.</p>
<p>There are a number of diet pills that are on the market for purchase. Lots of people make claims to melt fat, suppress appetite and burn carbs. The lack of FDA regulation makes these pills problematic despite the fact that they may live up to their assertions.</p>
<p>Even if you actually succeed in finding a pill that is effective for you, bear in mind that there have been cases where pills have been found to have adverse effects years afterwards. To appeal to various types of dieters, manufacturers have put various unique types of pills on the market.</p>
<p>The most popular type of diet pills is an appetite suppressant. They work by expanding within your stomach, making you feel fuller. There are a number of products available, ranging from natural substances to the newer phentramin.</p>
<p>These pills work best when taken with a physician&#8217;s prescribed diet medication which will suppress the appetite by releasing a chemical compound which numbs hunger pangs. Some of the over the counter products also use hoodia gordonni cactus. Appetite suppressants do help you with weight loss, but if you only use that they will not make the weight come off.</p>
<p>Fat Burners make the claim of huge weight loss. If it&#8217;s too good to be true, it probably is. Most of these pills are simply a form of caffeine, while some are made with green tree and guarana. With this knowledge in hand, some of these do work, as green tea has proven to help lose weight, with an average of about 10 pounds over two months.</p>
<p>For persons who have larger amounts of weight to lose, supplemental fat burners do not work as well. Another drawback is that these pills contain large amounts of caffeine, which can increase your heart rate and blood pressure to a hazardous level. Other symptoms include dryness, headache, and trouble sleeping. This can prevent you from leading a healthy lifestyle.</p>
<p>With all the hype over carbs contributing to weight gain, people are looking for the solution to that as well.  Carb blocker pills are made from a white kidney bean extract, and while they may work to block carbs, it&#8217;s nowhere near what the claims are for. These pills are generally expensive, too. Another risk you take with carb blockers is a false sense of security. When taking a carb blocker, you are more likely to not watch your carb intake because you believe you are magically blocking the carbs from turning into calories. This just isn&#8217;t the case.</p>
<p>Good nutrition, along with exercise, is the best way to slim down. Long-term weight loss is a lifestyle change, not a prescription fix.  People who lose weight with pills often find that the weight returns when they quit taking them and return to their old behaviors.</p>
<p>If you need a lift in the short term, attempt using appetite suppressants but keep in mind that your body will become comfortable and used to them. To eliminate the health risks and cost associated with diet pills, choose a good diet plan that you can adhere to and the weight will be lost efficiently.</p>
