Walking – An Easy Path to Weight Loss

Once you resolve to get rid of a few extra pounds, you should create a workout plan. Is exercising something you haven’t done in a long while? Sometimes it can appear a bit too much and even a little bit scary… not to worry, there’s a simple way to get back into exercise: walking! Be sure to combine walking with any other exercise you are currently doing.

You can fit walking into your schedule in numerous ways. You might want to take your dog for a 10-minute stroll around the neighborhood. Just think, 10 minutes each day is equals walking 70 minutes each week. You can double the number if you take your dog for a walk two times a day. Walk to your workplace if you live pretty close to it. Obviously, if it’s going to take you 2 hours to walk to work, it’s not such a great idea to walk there every day (but feel free to try if you believe you can do it!). It’s not unreasonable to walk 30 minutes to get to your workplace and it will give you at least an hour of exercise each day walking back and forth. If you ride the bus to work, try walking to the next bus stop and incorporate some exercise to your day. Its not hard to add in walking.

Your body and overall health will be wonderfully made better by walking. You can expect to improve your heart as well as lose weight since walking is a type of aerobic workout. Unlike running, which can strain your joints, you can walk at a pace that is comfrotable for you. For example, I’ve always wondered how my brother could continue to be so thin when he eats too much junk food. He tells me he has no idea, but he did tell me that he walks frequently daily. It all made sense when he mentioned that. The simplicity of walking makes it inconceivable to come up with reasons to not do it.

Consider walking each day as you’ll have a better chance you’ll stick to it, and with the proper diet, you’ll be able to eliminate those extra pounds quickly. Through walking, you’ll also feel more fit and you won’t be discouraged by it since it’s not tiring at all, which will make you feel more inspired. When you have been walking daily, you’ll most likely want to up the intensity level to experience even more benefit. If you believe you’re ready to move on to something more arduous, don’t be scared to make an attempt. Walk at a faster pace than you usually do and maybe jog for a few steps along the way if you feel like it. The next you need to do is to progress to even more strenuous workouts.

There should be no excuse for you to not go walk for a few minutes daily. Even if you are busy, you can take out 10 minutes to walk around the neighborhood, or if you are a gym member, nip in and do 30 minutes on the treadmill at a slow pace to start off with.
